What we collect

What you tell us. If you fill in the valuation form we collect the details you enter: the watch's brand, model or reference, approximate year, condition, whether you have the box and papers, and the name you give us. Every field is optional.

How you reached us. When you tap a WhatsApp button we record which page you were on, the site that referred you (for example a search engine), the language version you were using and an approximate country and city derived from your IP address by our hosting provider. We do not store your IP address itself.

Your message. The conversation itself happens on WhatsApp. When you write to us we see your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and whatever you choose to send us, including photographs of your watch.

Our commitments

This site runs without advertising cookies, Google Analytics, the Meta pixel or any similar tracking technology.

Your information is not shared with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes.

We do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects about you. Every valuation is made by a person.

Why we use it

To prepare a valuation for your watch and reply to you. This is the reason you contacted us, and the information is used for nothing else.

To understand which pages generate genuine enquiries, so we can improve the site. For this we only need the page, the referring site and the approximate location, never your identity.

To keep records of the offers we make and the purchases we complete, as any business must.

Cookies

This site sets only strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie used by the private administration area. There are no analytics, advertising or profiling cookies, so there is nothing here for you to opt out of.

Who else handles your information

Vercel Inc. hosts the website and processes requests on our behalf.

Render Services, Inc. hosts the system where enquiries are recorded.

WhatsApp / Meta Platforms carries the conversation once you write to us. What happens inside WhatsApp is governed by Meta's own privacy policy, not by this one.

Beyond those three, your information stays with us, except where the law requires otherwise.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as we need them to attend to your request and to document the offers we have made. You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will do so unless the law requires us to keep a record of a completed transaction.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Write to throwinsaltllc@gmail.com and we will answer.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you also have the right to object to our use of your information, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, and to complain to your national data protection authority. Our legal basis for handling your enquiry is that you asked us to (steps taken at your request before entering into a contract); for understanding which pages generate enquiries it is our legitimate interest in running the site sensibly.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, to correct it and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. As noted above, your information is not sold or shared.

Children

This site is meant for adults selling their own watches. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date shown above. If the change is significant we will say so on the site.
