Rolex Resale Value Chart 2026: What Buyers Actually Pay
Real Rolex resale values by model for September 2026. Submariner, Daytona, GMT, Datejust, Explorer, Yacht-Master. Seller payouts, not Chrono24 listings.
If you searched for a Rolex resale value chart in 2026, you probably already looked at Chrono24 and WatchCharts. Those numbers are useful, but they are asking prices and index averages, not what a seller actually receives when the wire lands.
This chart is different. These are the ranges we and other serious buyers are paying in September 2026, on watches with full sets and honest condition. If you have a stripped watch, a polished case, or an overdue service, drop 5 to 15% off the top end. If you have a rare dial variant or a discontinued reference, add 5 to 10%.
Rolex raised prices twice in 2026 (once in January, once on gold in June). The steel sports models stayed close to where they sat at the end of 2025. The overall pre-owned index is roughly 7% higher than a year ago and about 55% above 2019 levels. That is the market a seller is walking into today.
Rolex resale value chart 2026 (steel sports models)
These are the volume references. Payouts assume a full set and clean condition.
| Reference | Model | Seller payout range | |---|---|---| | 124060 | Submariner No Date 41mm | $10,500 - $12,000 | | 126610LN | Submariner Date 41mm, black | $13,500 - $15,500 | | 126610LV | Submariner Date "Starbucks", green | $15,500 - $18,000 | | 126500LN | Daytona, current gen | $32,000 - $38,000 | | 116500LN | Daytona, discontinued 2023 | $28,000 - $33,000 | | 126710BLRO | GMT-Master II "Pepsi" | $17,000 - $19,500 | | 126710BLNR | GMT-Master II "Batman" | $15,000 - $17,500 | | 226570 | Explorer II 42mm | $11,500 - $13,500 | | 124270 | Explorer 36mm | $6,500 - $7,800 | | 126600 | Sea-Dweller 43mm | $12,500 - $14,500 | | 226659 | Deepsea 44mm | $12,000 - $14,000 | | 126622 | Yacht-Master 40 steel/platinum | $11,500 - $13,000 |
The Daytona is still its own market. The 126500LN pre-owned trades roughly double its $16,900 MSRP, which is why we treat it as a category by itself. The Pepsi gained about 12% in Q1 2026 and has held.
Rolex resale value chart 2026 (Datejust and dress)
The Datejust cluster is the widest bucket in Rolex. Small changes in bezel, dial, and bracelet swing the number by thousands.
| Reference | Model | Seller payout range | |---|---|---| | 126234 | Datejust 36 steel/white gold fluted | $7,500 - $9,000 | | 126200 | Datejust 36 smooth bezel | $6,500 - $8,000 | | 126300 | Datejust 41 smooth bezel | $8,500 - $10,000 | | 126334 | Datejust 41 fluted, jubilee | $9,500 - $11,500 | | 126333 | Datejust 41 two-tone yellow gold | $11,500 - $13,500 | | 126331 | Datejust 41 two-tone rose gold | $11,500 - $13,500 | | 279174 | Lady-Datejust 28 steel/white gold | $6,000 - $7,200 | | 50529 | Rolex 1908 white gold | $16,000 - $18,500 | | 50519 | Rolex 1908 platinum | $19,000 - $22,000 |
Datejust in steel or two-tone sits at or slightly below retail on the used market. That is a good thing for sellers who bought a decade ago. It means liquidity is real and offers arrive quickly. The 1908 (dress-Perpetual line, launched 2023) trades below MSRP but has a small, committed buyer pool.
Rolex resale value chart 2026 (precious metal)
Gold references took the biggest MSRP hits in 2026 (June increase was 5% on gold, nothing on steel). The gap between retail and pre-owned widened. Sellers who bought recently should expect to take a hit versus what they paid.
| Reference | Model | Seller payout range | |---|---|---| | 228238 | Day-Date 40 yellow gold, president | $36,000 - $42,000 | | 228239 | Day-Date 40 white gold, president | $34,000 - $40,000 | | 228235 | Day-Date 40 rose gold, president | $37,000 - $43,000 | | 126518LN | Daytona yellow gold, black dial | $42,000 - $48,000 | | 126515LN | Daytona rose gold | $44,000 - $50,000 | | 126506 | Daytona platinum, ice blue | $80,000 - $95,000 | | 116500LN + white/black | Daytona steel, panda or black | $30,000 - $36,000 | | 226679RBR | Rainbow-set GMT variants | quote required |
Anything set with factory stones (rainbow, Rolex Rainbow Daytona, gem-set Day-Date) trades outside the chart. Those need individual quotes because color, ref year, and stone condition matter more than the model name.
What the chart does not tell you
Condition adjustments. Every range above assumes a watch that would pass a basic buyer inspection. Polished lugs, replacement links, aftermarket bezel inserts, service dials on vintage: each of those pulls you toward the bottom of the range or below it. A heavily polished Submariner can lose $1,500 to $3,000 versus a factory-finish example.
Papers and box. Full set (box + warranty card + booklets) is roughly 5 to 12% of the price on modern references. Watch-only sits at the low end of the range or 5% below. Original purchase receipt helps but is not required.
Service history. A recent Rolex service center invoice adds credibility, especially on watches over 8 years old. An overdue service on a vintage piece is a real negative because the buyer knows they will spend $900 to $1,400 to bring it current.
Reference year. A 2015 Submariner 116610 and a 2021 Submariner 116610 are the same reference but a serious buyer will price them differently. Later production years usually pay 5 to 10% more, especially if the papers date is recent.
Regional demand. Miami and New York move faster than most cities, but every serious watch buyer works nationwide. Do not undersell yourself because you live in a smaller market. Photos and a WhatsApp conversation solve geography.
5 mistakes that shrink your Rolex payout
- Believing Chrono24 listing prices. Listings are aspirational asking prices. Real closes typically sit 10 to 20% below listings. Use WatchCharts sold-comps if you want a public reference, and even those skew toward well-presented, full-set examples.
- Polishing before you sell. Almost always destroys value. Rolex collectors want factory finish. Leave the watch alone and let the buyer decide.
- Taking the first offer from a pawn shop or local jeweler. Their model requires a 30 to 50% margin because they carry inventory and pay retail overhead. A specialized watch buyer works on a much thinner spread.
- Selling piece by piece. Some sellers split the bracelet, box, and papers to "maximize value" on eBay. This kills the resale price. A complete set is worth more than the sum of the parts.
- Waiting for the "perfect market." The market has cycles. It peaked in 2022, corrected through 2024, and stabilized through 2025-2026. If you need liquidity, waiting six months for a 3% move is not a strategy.
When to sell vs when to hold
Sell now if: you need the money, the watch does not fit your life, the reference is discontinued (rising floor), or the market segment is strong (Daytona, Pepsi, Nautilus-style demand).
Hold if: you love wearing it, the reference is early in its production cycle, and you can afford to keep the capital tied up. Do not hold for speculation on a watch you already use. Enjoy it. If you decide later, the market will still be there.

How our appraisal works
At Global Watch Buyers, quotes are based on comps we actually paid or paid others on, in the last 90 days. Not consignment estimates, not aspirational retail.
- Send photos of dial, caseback, movement (if you can), bracelet, box, and papers via WhatsApp
- Get a firm number within a few hours during US business hours
- Same-day wire, certified check, or in-person cash for local Miami sellers
- Fully insured shipping for anyone outside driving distance
- No fees, no commissions, no auction waiting period
If you want a real number instead of a chart, that is how you get it.
Bottom line
A Rolex resale value chart tells you the neighborhood. Getting an actual quote tells you the price. Use the ranges above as a sanity check on whatever offer you receive, then send photos to two or three specialized buyers (including us) to make sure you are inside the top third of the range.
If you want an offer today, message us on WhatsApp with photos. No pressure, no obligation, no salesy follow-ups.
